double Gram vinyl re-issue of the bands most popular studio album from featuring four bonus tracks. They achieved mainstream success with the single "Love Like Blood", which peaked at #16 in the UK. Night Time was also supported with singles for "Eighties" and "Kings and Queens". This album is largely identified as when Killing Joke 'went Pop' or 'New Wave' at least. I find this to be a large exaggeration, I'd go for Gothic-ish Rock. True, the songs aren't asmassively guitar heavy a la 'Pandemonium' or 'Pylon,' or at least not heavy guitar, but still, there is a lot of and epic arpeggios to keep riff fiends happy /5().

Night Time is the fifth studio album by English post-Punk band Killing Joke. It was released in March The album was an international hit, almost reaching the Top Ten in the United Kingdom. The album finds the band caught between their earlier aggression and a calmer, more immediately accessible approach.

Apr 29,  · Night Time is my favourite Killing Joke album. This is their 5th recording and was released in Very in tune with that time period, it's a very rhythmic rock album, The bass and drums are definitely front and center. Includes the singles "Night Time", "Love Like Blood" (which is probably their best known song), and "King and Queens".Reviews:

Title: Night Time Label: Music on Vinyl Combining pop, rock with a new wave/post punk ethic, Killing Joke had been rather quiet for the previous three years and then returned in with this LP, following a couple of exploratory EPs. Paul Raven had suddenly appeared to fulfill bass duties from the departing Youth and the final band sound had evolved a touch. The .

Marking the full return from the band's out-of-nowhere hiatus in , Night Time, following after a couple of test-the-waters EPs, finds the reconstituted Killing Joke, with Paul Raven in on bass but otherwise unchanged, caught between their earlier aggression and a calmer, more immediately accessible approach. This turned out to be the band's Achilles heel in the end, with later albums .
